Athletic Awards
ATHLETIC AWARD INFORMATION
Scripps Ranch High School student-athletes have the opportunity to earn the following awards during their athletic careers. We trust that these awards will inspire all Falcons to establish high standards, and assist in the pursuit of excellence in every facet of their life.
Varsity Letter
The head coach establishes the criteria to earn a varsity letter. When an athlete is recognized as a Varsity Letter Winner, he or she has earned the privilege to wear a Scripps Ranch High School (SRHS) varsity letter, and to purchase a varsity letter jacket. Keep in mind that being a member of a varsity team does not automatically qualify an athlete for a varsity letter. Chenille letters, and a Letter Certificate, are distributed by the respective coach at his/her team banquet.
League Championship Patch
League Championship patches are awarded to qualifying teams and varsity athletes at the team banquet following the season.
CIF Patches
The Associated Student Body provides CIF patches to qualifying varsity athletes at the team banquet following the season.
Scholar-Athlete Patch
The Scholar-Athlete Patch is provided to junior and senior varsity athletes who earn a cumulative 3.0 GPA, or better, as evidenced by the most recent semester grade report. These qualifying athletes will also receive recognition by the Union-Tribune as
All Academic Prep Team members. This patch is provided at no cost to Varsity Club members.
Tri-Sport Letter Patch
The Tri-Sport Letter Patch is awarded to athletes who have earned a varsity letter in three sports during the same school year. This patch is provided at no cost to Varsity Club members.
Pride Award
The Pride Award provides an opportunity for coaches (Frosh, JV, Varsity) to honor one athlete who best models the CIF Victory with Honor, Six Pillars of Character during the season of sport. Recognized athletes receive a personal letter of congratulations, t-shirt, and gift card from a local merchant. This award is provided at no cost to all honorees.
